The NX400 runs quietly, yet powerfully. Those used to non-computerized machines will be surprised at the difference. Many features of this mid-range model are rather convenient for quilting. Basic features, such as the autothreader, are both practical and helpful. The knee lift, is also worth note, as it frees the hands to work with the fabric, rather than the presser foot.
The extra large sewing bed is particularly beneficial for machine quilting. Guiding multiple layers of fabric and batting is less difficult in such a roomy area. The NX400 also includes a motor powerful enough to handle multiple layers of fabric with ease.
The manual is well organized and fairly comprehensive. Given the number of stitches possible with the NX400 as well as the computerized functions, this resource helps quilters achieve the best results.
